1.
EXAMINE THE ALTERNATIVE
You cannot examine every alternative, but you can make a
commitment to always look at more than two possible solutions to any
problem. Think of as many different decisions you could make by
"brainstorming."
2.
EVALUATE THE CONSEQUENCES OF EACH ALTERNATIVE
Decide what good would result from each possibility. Then, take
the blinders off and look for the negative consequences for each
alternative. Weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each
option.
3. MAKE
A CHOICE
Remembering that not choosing is a choice in itself, take charge of the
situation by making the best choice that you can with the information
available to you at the moment. An old saying, "A journey of
a thousand miles begins with a single step," provides the message
that once you have decided the direction of your journey, get on with
it. Make a decision - take a risk and get started toward your
goal.

With every
decision there are trade-offs, only by taking the time to weigh each
option will you be able to make the best choice.
